my great great grandad the anzac!

MY GREAT GREAT GRANDAD WAS IN THE WAR AT GALLIPOLI.
HE WAS SHOT IN THE SHOULDER. WHEN HE WAS BETTER HE
WENT TO FRANCE AND HE WAS BADLY GASSED BEFORE
COMING HOME TO NEW ZEALAND.

HIS PATCH WAS FOR THE EGYPTIAN EXPLORATORY FORCE 1916. THE 1914 STAR WAS GIVEN TO HIM FOR SERVING IN FRANCE.  THERE IS ALSO A MEDAL FOR THE GREAT WAR OF CIVILISATION 1914 - 1919

  1. Hi Tenari,
Wow! It's fantastic that you know this part of your families history and are able to tell the story. It's amazing to think about what they went through and how different it would have been to have travelled to the other side of the world from little old New Zealand at a time when people didn't really travel overseas. Each individual medal/patch says so much.
