My name, Tenari, is her grandads name also.
They moved from our village Poutasi in Samoa to Greylynn in Auckland when she was 2
Her most happiest memory was living in Samoa, running around in the warm sun.
Her most favourite food in the world is sapasui and panikekesHer advice to me growing up was: to be patient. All good things come in the end!
It's pretty special to have a name which has been carried through the generations. Imagine how scary it would be to go from a village in Samoa to the big city of Auckland!? We had some panikekes last year during Samoan Language Week. They were delicious!

ReplyDeleteThis is such a lovely blog post. I agree with Ms Raisin about how scary it would be coming from Samoa to Auckland. Apia is quite busy but so different to New Zealand. I love panikeke and sapasui.

Great blog, knowing your family heritage is a wonderful gift.Your aunties advice is spot on.I am a big believer in the power of patience.I have taught my daughters something very similar and it goes like this- Patience always wins.I hope one day you get to visit her beloved Samoa😎😎😎
